Dr Gary Rubin, Director of Operations

Gary has extensive commercial experience in Business Development, Technology Commercialisation and Venture Capital in the Biotechnology Industry in UK and Asia-Pacific. He was previously in Business/ Operations Management, University of Edinburgh; Director of Business Development (Europe), CyGenics Ltd; and an Investment Manager, Bio*One Capital. He also spent 8 years in gene regulation research at the University of Dundee, and the Victorian Breast Cancer Consortium, Melbourne.

Dr Al Ivens, Head of Data Analysis

Al joined Fios from the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, at which he led the Pathogen Microarrays Group, and over the past 9 years, had gained extensive experience in microarray data analysis, pathogen sequencing and genome annotation/ analysis. He was previously a Research Fellow at Imperial College, and has over 90 publications in peer-reviewed journals and an MBA from Warwick University.

Fraser Morton MRes, Senior Software Developer

Fraser has over 5 years expertise in software and algorithm development, and database annotation. He was previously a Senior Computer Biologist at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and an Enzymologist at Medivir Ltd.
