Identification of genes or transcripts that act as specific markers of a particular biological process, treatment or disease.

Study Design

Analysis is dependent on availability of sufficient number of patient samples within a group that can independently serve as training and validation sets.

Biomarker Identification

Genes capable of discriminating 2 groups of patients, that is classifiers, will be identified through comparison of relevant patient groups.

Biomarker Evaluation

Genes are evaluated within the same set of patients in a leave-one-out cross-validation scheme.

Biomarker Validation

Independent validation of classifier genes will be tested on an independent group (test set) of patient data.
