FTP Data Access

Once your project has been agreed you will be issued with a username and password for use with your own private space on our secure FTP site. In the interests of greater security and confidentiality of data, both incoming and outgoing, we have implemented FTP over SSL/TLS. Currently, as none of the major web browsers (Internet Explorer/Windows Explorer/Firefox/Safari) support this secure protocol, you will require an FTP software application to connect to our server; there are several available, all free of charge.

We recommend FileZilla (Unix/Windows/Mac) or fetch (Mac), both of which support SSL/TLS. The version of FileZilla to use is 3.0.11.1 (there are some server issues relating to more recent versions). Do NOT use a more recent version of FileZilla.

Installation packages are available as follows:

Please click on the appropriate link below to download the correct version of FileZilla.

  • Linux
  • Mac (Intel)
  • Mac (PowerPC)
  • Windows

Fetch for Mac can be obtained from here

Note: you may need to have "Administrator" rights on your computer to install the above software.

The other important piece of information is that the Fios Genomics FTP site address is slightly "different" from what you may be used to:

ftpes://fiosftp.fiosgenomics.com

If you have any problems, please contact us immediately at info@fiosgenomics.co.uk.
