Advancing Central Nervous System Research

Trying to make a breakthrough in Central Nervous System (CNS) research? At Fios Genomics, we work with CNS researchers in order to reveal hidden insights in their research data and advance drug discovery and development for CNS. Using bioinformatics analyses, we can uncover the relevant pathways and gene expression changes in Central Nervous System disorders to inform the next steps in your research.

How Can Bioinformatics Help Advance Central Nervous System Research?

Bioinformatics analyses can advance CNS drug research in a variety of ways.  For example, in the pre-clinical stage of CNS drug development, we can use bioinformatics to identify and validate drug targets and leads.
Bioinformatics support can also help central nervous system researchers with:

  • Predicting biomarkers for stratification/classification of patient response to drug
  • Identifying biomarkers for measurement of drug efficacy and mechanism of action
  • Conducting SNP genotype analysis & DNA sequence analysis for the detection of novel SNPs implicated in disease or response to drugs

Our Experience

We have provided bioinformatics services to advance CNS research related to a number of disorders such as epilepsy, narcolepsy, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and Huntington’s disease.
Services we have provided include:

  • Data landscaping and mining of public datasets for proteomics and/or gene expression data related to disorders such as dementia and narcolepsy
  • RNAseq analysis of iPSC-derived models for understanding the effect of a compound on brain disorders
  • Analysis of a high-throughput siRNA screen to identify biomarkers in Huntington’s Disease
